Makes 2 drinks

  • ¾ teaspoon chili powder

  • 1½ teaspoons coarse salt

  • 1½ teaspoons granulated sugar

  • 1 lime, sliced

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled, pitted, and diced

  • 3 ounces pineapple juice

  • 1 ounce lime juice

  • 1 jalapeño, sliced

  • 3 ounces triple sec

  • 3 ounces silver tequila

On a small plate, combine the chili powder, salt, and sugar. With a lime wedge, moisten the rims of the glasses, then dip the edge of the rim into the mixture and gently shake off any excess. Fill the glasses with ice and set aside.

To a blender or food processor, add the mango, pineapple juice, and lime juice. Blend until smooth and creamy. In a cocktail shaker, muddle 1 to 4 jalapeño slices. Fill the shaker with ice and add the mango mixture, triple sec, and tequila. Shake vigorously and strain the mixture into the prepared glasses. Garnish with remaining lime slices.
