Italian Chicken Sausage Dip
Easy Recipe

Serves 4

    • For the chicken sausage:
    • ½ pound ground Smart Chicken
    • ¾ teaspoon sugar
    • ¾ teaspoon ground black pepper
    • ¾ teaspoon fennel seeds
    • ¾ teaspoon coriander
    • 1¼ teaspoons paprika
    • Pinch cayenne pepper
    • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

    Combine all spices and mix with ground chicken.

      • For the dip:
      • ½ large red bell pepper, diced
      • ½ large yellow onion, diced
      • ½ pound Smart Chicken Italian Sausage
      • 2½ tablespoons white wine
      • 3/4 cup cream
      • 8 ounces cream cheese
      • 2 teaspoons sambal chili paste
      • 1½ ounces fresh spinach, chopped
      • For serving:
      • Fresh vegetable sticks, crackers, tortilla chips, or crostini

      Cook chicken sausage in a hot pan until browned, breaking into very fine pieces until completely cooked through. Add red peppers and onions and cook until soft. Deglaze with white wine and let reduce by half. Add cream, cream cheese, and sambal chili paste. Heat and stir until smooth, being careful not to scorch. Stir in spinach. Serve as an appetizer with vegetable sticks, crackers, tortilla chips, or crostini.
