Grandma Mary’s Holiday Dressing

This perfect dressing adds creamy, elegant flavors to vegetables and cold holiday salads, and it’s versatile enough to use in chicken salad or even as a sandwich spread.
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard
- 2 large, fresh, whole eggs
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup white wine vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
In a double boiler, combine all ingredients. Whisk mixture as ingredients simmer gently. Remove from heat when dressing thickens slightly. If serving warm, use immediately, or refrigerate and use within two days. Makes 1 1/2 cups.
