- 2 packages Smart Chicken bratwurst
- 2 onions, julienned
- 12 to 16 ounces lager (depending on the size of your pot)
- Rustic bread or baguettes, toasted
- Stone-ground mustard for serving (optional)
In a large pot, add brats and onions. Pour in enough lager to submerge the brats and onions. Simmer until the brats are cooked and the onions soften. Cool the brats, beer, and onions. Remove that brats and onions from the beer, then grill the brats, warm the onions and serve on the rustic bun or baguette with stone-ground mustard.
