MBA Poultry is the creation of Mark Haskins, our Founder, President and CEO. He named our company after his three children: Mark Jr., Bridget, and Amber. Smart Chicken® was named when Mark realized that if you have an MBA, you are likely to be smarter than most. Therefore, he named our chicken MBA Brand Smart Chicken®. Our MBA is a degree in family, which tells you how we like to treat our associates who care for our products.

Our name is at the heart of everything we do. It defines us in many ways: our focus on family, education and the overall betterment of food products. Our name reminds us that we are not here to mass-produce a commodity chicken, but instead to provide the quality and service of a focused and dedicated team of experts. We will always work diligently to invest in our most valuable asset - our name.




Our family of almost 450 associates and management

We know that our loyalty to creating this experience is a reflection of our corporate vision. This vision is the creation of our founder, Mark Haskins. Since 1998, we have grown the Smart Chicken® brand to
cover more than 43 states and 18 major markets. Sales have
tripled in a saturated industry with stagnant sales growth.
We now service over 2,500 retailers from Maine to California.
